Nationals has implemented the automated appeal in tennislink. What this
means is players can now go in under Find a rating in tennislink and instantly
attempt to appeal their year-end computer rating. We have in the past had
appeal deadlines and now that this is up, there will not be any further
deadlines for the year-end rating appeals.

This will not include the mid-season or early season rating appeals, so when
we publish the mid-season ratings players will still have to appeal by mailing
their letter into us at the section. This will eventually be done online the same
way but the system is not ready yet. Keep in mind the only players who will
get their appeal granted online will be those players who fall within the
appeal range which is the same way the appeals have been done in the past.

Here is a list below of what appeals can now be done online at anytime. If
there are any changes I will keep you updated. Hope all is going well with
everyone

I wanted to make sure you were all aware of a few of the changes to the self-
rate guidelines if you haven’t seen the updated form on the USTA website.

The first one is that if you played another sport in high school or college then
you cannot come in below the 3.0 level. The idea behind this one is that you
will pick tennis up more quickly and improve rapidly.

The second one is that if you played high school tennis and advanced to post
season play as an individual then you cannot come in below the 3.5 level.

Hope everyone is doing well,
